If I were to list remarkable experiences I had since I became a mother, having the privilege of helping distribute Absolute Wellness Kits to moms who just gave birth in Dr. Jose Fabella Memorial Hospital will be one. <3

Seeing the new moms and their new born children made me swiftly reminisce my first pregnancy which was over two year ago, and of course, my very recent one since I just delivered my second baby just a month ago!

Flashback to when I was feeling an entire spectrum of emotions for delivering and meeting my new baby, and also feeling the aftermath of what was arguably the most physical, overwhelming, and significantly painful things I’d ever done. I realize a lot of moms have gone through the same thing and probably some even worse. Somehow I felt very connected with them knowing that we all recently went through the misery turned happiest day of my life event together.

Mommy Jasmine, the first mom on the right with long hair, gave birth to triplets!

Meeting some of the moms personally- chatting with them, caressing their newborns- I figured there’s only one thing a mom who just gave birth would want to hear-  “WE RECOGNIZE THAT YOU JUST WENT THROUGH A MAJOR, LIFE CHANGING EXPERIENCE!” So major that most of us would quickly and unquestionably add it to the Hardest-Things-I’ve-Ever-Done List!

It’s true when they say every child is unique. Even if they came from the same womb. And with this experience, I would definitely agree that every mom is absolutely different too! We all have our own stories to tell. Own life experiences. Own histories. But whatever is written on each book, who are we to judge?

Here are some of the moms I met and had the chance to talk to.

This is mommy Rubilyn and her cute twins Samantha and Sabrina. Skin-to-skin contact is very important for newborns, especially for premature babies like them.

Doesn’t it break your heart seeing a tiny being going through a lot of pricking and testing everyday? Mommy Anne also has a premie baby and has been staying in Fabella for almost 2 weeks already. As moms, the moment we learn that we are conceiving a baby, Nothing else would we be praying for but for them to be normal and healthy.

These two young moms were both given implant contraceptives which I first heard of from them. This family planning method is said to not get a woman pregnant for 3 years. So I set an appointment with my OB-GYN the next day to talk about it. 😀

27-year old mommy Jennilyn gave birth to her 8th child and is now already ligated.

Moms go through a little bit of so many things each day. It’s tiring, stressful, and sometimes even depressing. Making it a priority to ensure she feels seen, and cared for, and important in light of what she has just endured — and to show that you recognize the undeniable strength that’s necessary in order to birth a child will probably give her a much-needed boost of self-confidence and self-assurance. New moms are not exempt from feeling the positives a well-intentioned, genuine compliment can provide.

The Wellness Kits we distributed to every mother in the hospital meant so much to a new mom who just experienced pain at its finest. It feels so great to see their happy smiles and excitement as they checked what’s inside their Absolute Loot Bag.
