#MomPartnersForLIFE Thanksgiving Outreach Celebration

What better way to give thanks for all the blessings the Lord has showered upon us but through a celebration of life with people who needed blessing and guidance most.

My dear #MomPartner Icel of @themommawites recently gave birth to her 3rd child, baby Kris. After a month, baby Kris got sick and has to stay in the hospital for a week. This thanksgiving celebration we had at Grace To Be Born Shelter is to celebrate the birth and healing of our dear baby Kris. Nothing but glory to God for the gift of life!

November 3, 2019, Pasig City – My family and Icel’s visited Grace to Be Born, a ministry that saves the unborn from abortion, and a sanctuary for unwed pregnant mothers in crisis who initially thoughts of abortion but were convinced to enter the Grace home and continue their pregnancy.

It also serves as an orphanage for abandoned babies. After delivery, the mother decides whether to take home their babies or leave them at the Grace center where these babies are eventually put up for adoption through the Department of Social Welfare and Development.

It is a ministry organized and run by Betty Roxas-Chua and Rey Ortega. Lay preacher Bo Sanchez was one of the pioneers of the organization and continues to support it. It is also supported by the Rosary for Life movement. They opened the Grace center on May 8, 2009, and the ministry is duly registered at and approved by the Securities and Exchange Commission, DSWD, Bureau of Internal Revenue and the Mayor’s Office of the Philippines.

It was our second time to celebrate something special at Grace To Be Born. First was my birthday and Amaria’s outreach celebration on April 2019 which I asked mommy Icel to help me organize. We reached out to brands we trust and have worked with who might be interested in being part of the outreach program and luckily (and surprisingly) there were lots! We had Mommy Tin, a breastfeeding advocate, do a short talk to the young, unwed moms about the benefits of breastfeeding to both the mom and her baby and how to sustain breastfeeding.

The experience was so rewarding, fulfilling, heart-warming. Ugh! I don’t even know which adjective to use to describe the feeling! And then I thought we could do this again. Yes! We will definitely do this again!

So when my mom partner Icel gave birth, we had to celebrate! An outreach thanksgiving at Grace To Be Born was perfect way to thank God for blessing her with a healthy baby boy!

We invited Mommy Kaye, founder of Mamacademy, a community that organizes workshops for mom and women. She was the perfect speaker for the young, unwed moms! Such an inspiring talk she did as she shared her own story being raised by a single mom. Her activity was exciting and fun, having us all pick a card and answer a simple, engaging question.

Plus, she gave us all a Friendship Bracelet! Reminded us that we are all fearfully and wonderfully made. <3

Icel cooked her signature spaghetti and my Momcy made her famous egg sandwich! Absolute Distilled and packed juice to seal the snack time and everybody was happy!

To wrap up our mini-party, my 3-year-old Amaria sang Fireworks by Katy Perry for everyone and then she helped distribute the gifts to the moms. <3

Oh, what an amazing day! My heart was so full and in my mind, I was planning of the next time we’re gonna do this again. I want my daughters to grow up knowing the value of sharing and giving back the blessings we receive in their own simple ways.

Do you wanna help save the unborn from abortion? You may help the ministry through financial donation, volunteering to serve, or donation in kind. The Grace center welcomes donations of infant formula, diapers, vitamins for babies and pregnant mothers, rice and canned goods and toiletries. I am writing this with a smile on my face and joy in my heart. Sharing and helping give me a sense of fulfillment. I may not be the best in my career or may not have everything in the world, but days like this make me feel like a champion when by sharing the little things I can also help me teach my kids the value of giving.
