A Baby Showerย is a way to celebrate the pending birth of a child by presenting gifts to the mother at a simple gathering. Here are some budget ideas for parents, family or friends who would want to host a simple baby shower party to celebrate the coming of their baby:
The excited parents ๐
I am such a lucky mommy-to-be! There is no other way to start my blog on this baby shower celebration that my family and friends have planned and prepared for me. ๐ We started the short program by 4:30PM at my house’s rooftop.ย It was drizzling though the sun was still up. Oh, God has definitely blessed this day.
1. ย Opening Prayer
Aย friend of mine since gradeย school, Grazelle, who is currently the guidance councilor on our Catholic school led the opening prayer.
2. Opening Speech
Elroie, my college friend who was the MC of the event called me to give a welcoming messageย to our guests.
3. ย Merienda Time!
My momcy cooked all the food we served to our visitors, with the help of my sister-in-law, Princess. And oh, everyone loved everything on the buffet table as always!
The food to be served depends on what time do you plan to have the party. Since this was in the afternoon, snacks like spaghetti, fried chicken and salads were served.
The baby shower cakes & cupcakes are from my college friend. And I tell you, they do not only look good, they even taste really good too! Visit @cravingbitesph on Instagram to checkout more yummy cakes!
ย 4. Fun Games
We played the games:
a.) Kantaririt–ย Two teams will compete in a charades-like guessing game of song titles. Team members will take turns to sing a set of songs, but they must replace theย lyrics with animalย sounds like a dog’s bark or a cat’s meow. The team with the most number of song titles guessed wins the game and brings home cupcakes.
b.) Guess Mommy’s Belly Size- have 3-5ย playersย cutย a yarn to the size they believe would fit perfectly around the mommy-to-beโs largest part of herย preggoย belly. Compare the results to the real thing and the guest who has the closest guess wins a cupcake!
5.) Gift Giving
As the guests were coming inย their gifts were placed on the crib daddy Jaze gave Amaria Niszha for Christmas. ๐
MC calls on a minimum of three godparents to present their gifts and give a short message to the expecting mom & herย upcoming baby.
6.) Closing Remarks
Got my husband do the thank you message to our guests to formally end our celebration. ๐
Everyone received a simple token as our appreciation for the people who came and celebrated with our happiness for becoming soon-to-be-parents to a precious baby.
In Divisoria, a dozen of the baby bottles costs only P300. A pack of candy is P100. We just did the layout, printed and laminated the thank you tag for each souvenir. Go get stuffs like balloons and giveaway items from Divisoria, I tell you it is waaay cheaper!
Giveaways!
Again, I would like to thank everyone who made this simple party possible.
My family- momcy, my mamang and Princess for preparing the food, Ramzy, my brother for designing all the cutouts.ย And for all the love and support since the news came out about my pregnancy, thank you so much! ๐
My high school classmates, Ellah & Ey Ar, for doing most of the decorations- balloons, cutouts, backdrop & giveaways.
My friends whom I know really love me so much and are happy for the new stage of my life. Jaze said he knows I am friendly but he didn’t expect that lots of you will show up on the baby shower and all brought gifts for baby Amaria Niszha. Parang binyag na daw. Hahaha! The celebration wouldn’t be as memorable as it is if it weren’t for all of you.
Amaria Niszha’s welcoming gifts from everyone excited to see her! ๐
Again, from me and Jaze (and baby Niszha), thank you all so much for the love. ๐
The happiest mommy-to-be,
Mommy Nish
