There’s this resort in Bulacan that’s making a buzz for its fabulous glass villas and cool glamping site. Roughly a three-hour ride from Manila? Why not! So for the annual reunion with my grade school besties, we decided to try it out. This year, we’re off to San Rafael River Adventure!
San Rafael River Adventure is located in Brgy. Talacsan, San Rafael, Bulacan. You may simply search for it on Waze if you’re heading by car. We got there first among the troop so we had the time to take some photos before the never ending chikahan with my girlfriends begin.
I find it a bit odd that check-in time was 7 pm, and check-out time is 6 pm the following day. Can’t find the reason behind and it’s definitely my first time to hear such.

The receptionists and staff were accommodating. Welcome drinks were served but since it was summer, the powdered juice should have been served chilled and I think it was also too sweet.

We booked the Glass Cottage. Total of 3 for because the Glass Villa we were really eyeing for (that could house us all) was already not available. Overnight package good for 4-6 pax is P10,000. Click here to see their accommodation & rates.

All overnight packages include FREE BREAKFAST with coffee or iced tea. Our breakfast choices were taken by the butler the night before and were served at around 7AM by the waterfall pool side upon our advise so all of us could eat breakfast together. Though you could have it served on the outside dining area of the glass cottage too, if you prefer that. Breakfast was so-so, nothing special. But Amaria enjoyed the fresh orange slices.

San Rafael River Adventure allows bringing of food inside the resort without any corkage fee. We definitely brought food with us and made use of the griller that every cottage comes with. Our grilled hotdogs was a total hit to the kids (and the grown ups)!

Serene view and luscious greens welcomed us the next morning! Definitely gives you the I-am-out-of-the-city vibe. I should say that the whole place is well-maintained. The villas were architecturally designed and really impressed me.

I have always had a thing with luscious greens and this resort nailed it on giving an overall vibe of serenity to the atmosphere. My girls and I are nature lovers and you could tell on our photos that we indeed enjoy the outdoors once more!

The Infinity Pool with a great view of the Angat River is probably the most notable feature of San Rafael River Adventure. It has Jacuzzi and a well landscaped mini-island at the center. I specifically love that it’s surrounded with a lot of trees giving enough shade and adding beauty and peace to the totality of the view.

They also offer different water adventures like boating, banana boating, paddle boarding, jet skiing, kayaking, wake boarding and fishing while aboard the Kubo raft.
Too bad I wasn’t able to try out any of these because, you know, I got clingy kids to watch over and are always looking for me.

We all enjoyed taking photos! Especially on the tear hammock!

Me and my friends, and our families had a great time! A quick escape from the city and the our regular daily hustle was all we needed to get re-energized! That is why no matter how busy we all are, we set a schedule and see to it that we will meet and travel once a year.
So here is my verdict as per our experience.
PROS:
- Near Manila for those who want a quick out of town trip.
- Well-maintained facilities.
- Impressive architecture of the glass villas.
- One-of-a-kind experience.
- The staff were very accommodating and helpful.
CONS:
- Too pricey. I could book a better hotel with better amenities for the price.
- No wi-fi.
- Incomplete toiletries.
- The glass cottage seems a little off for me because I tried peeking from the outside of our cottage and I could see everything inside! Especially at night when the lights are on. So privacy wise, I don’t like it.
- There was an electric kettle but there were no tea cup, coffee, creamer, sugar. Or even bottled water for that matter, which I guess is a basic amenity for an overnight stay.
