Raise your hand if you are one of the moms that are getting paranoid about the current polio outbreak in the country?
I’m raising my hand with you, mommas. I know for a fact (yes, I’ve checked about a dozen times) that my little ones’ vaccines are updated but I can’t help but worry if they are enough or if they need more.

On my kids’ last check up, our pedia assured us that there is nothing to worry about as long as we follow the correct vaccination schedule. Yes, vaccines may sometimes cost an arm and a leg but nothing beats the peace of mind that it brings.

Through Mommy Mundo, I attended “PEDTALK” – a series of talks and conversations with reputable doctors and experts to educate us about the importance of vaccination.

These conversations about how to equip our kids to combat harmful elements in their environment that are invisible to the naked eye is really important and I am so happy to be there and know more!

If you are still on the fence about vaccinating your kids, please read on to know why you need do it now.

Vaccines can save your child’s life.
We are blessed beyond words because we are now living in a generation where it is possible to prevent life-threatening diseases. Advances in medical science eradicated many diseases that took the life of many children years ago.
It just breaks my heart that due to those who refused to have their children vaccinated, polio resurfaced in our country. Just imagine the plight of the kids who still cannot be immunized because of their age and medical condition.
My girls got their patak for Polio this October.

Vaccines save you time and money
We all know how expensive hospitalizations can be. Even with health care insurance, there are still expenses like food and medicines that we spend for during and after a hospital stay. Illnesses take a financial toll because of absences from work or worse, long-term disability care.
Just imagine the time lost for your children. Instead of them going to school or playing, they are cooped up in the hospital battling a disease that could have been prevented.

Vaccines are effective and safe
Your doctor will know the best and safest vaccine for your child. These immunizations went through a long and thorough study by scientists, healthcare experts and doctors to ensure safety and effectivity. There may be some side effects, but occurrences are very rare. The disease- prevention benefits of vaccines far outweigh the possible side effects.

Vaccines protect the community
Having our kids immunized does not only protect them, it protects other children in the community as well. There are babies who are still too young to receive certain vaccinations, while others cannot totally receive them due to certain disease like leukemia or severe allergic reaction. These innocent children cannot fight these diseases. It is our duty to make sure that life-threatening diseases do not reach them.

Vaccines can protect future generation
Immunizations give us the power to protect not only our children but our children’s children as well. This protection can go way into future generations. Vaccines have totally eradicated some diseases like smallpox. This can happen if everyone would have their children vaccinated. Wouldn’t it be wonderful to live in a world where deadly diseases do not exist anymore?

Mothers have a gazillion of things to worry about… preventable, life-threatening diseases should not be one of them. There are many ways to get vaccinated. Government health centers provide free basic immunization so we must take advantage of that privilege.

Yesss 😍😍 Sharing this for my mommy friends out there who doesn’t feel comfortable getting their kids vaccinated. I don’t understand their reasoning na kesyo daw hindi safe kasi di pa fully tested. For all I know, ayaw nilang magpabakuna kasi mahal ang bakuna sa mga private hospitals, e may mga libre namang bakuna na available sa barangay pero ayaw nilang i-avail 😅
Thanks true! Medyo pricey talaga ang ibang vaccines kaya di din afford ng lahat sa hospital. But you’re right mommy, if gusto nila talaga pero naman tayo mga health centers. 🙂
Agree mommy.. 100% na mag bbenefit sa kanila to in a long run. Let’s get them vaccinated..it is important to act and make they are protected… so yes to vaccine! 👌💕
Cheers to us moms who choose to vaccinate our kids! <3
This is so true mommy. Nakaka frustrate yung mga sakit ngayon kaya mas maganda mapavaccinate na sila habang maaga
Agree with you mommy. Iba pa din talaga yung may peace of mind tayo. 🙂
Prevention is better than cure. So hangga’t maaari bakunahan na lang si baby. ☺☺ Thanks for sharing mommy nish! ☺
Glad you dropped my mommy. Thank you! 🙂
Yes! to vaccination
