I know a lot of moms like me have unresolved laundry issues. Whether with hard to remove stains or fading color that makes clothes look old, name it! I am sure we’ve all been there. Some might have found the solution to their laundry frustrations, and some might have just accepted them and live with it.
With my growing kids who are getting more and more active each day, I noticed that their clothes start to lose freshness faster. Did I use less powder on my laundry to get rid of the “pawis” smell? Did I not dry it long enough under the sun?
This same issue bothered me with my work out shirts. They do smell fresh when I wear them, the problem is, as soon as I get all sweaty from my HIIT exercise, they no longer smell as fresh! You know how annoying it is to have sweat-smelling clothes and I thought this has probably something to do with my laundry.
My family has been a fan of Downy for as long as I can remember. It is the only fabric conditioner I have grown up to use in our household. And now that I manage my own, there’s no other brand I let my family’s clothes get rinsed with but Downy. I know a lot of Filipino families are just like us on that matter.
With my laundry issue at hand, I was really curious and did a small research on why freshness do not stay on our clothes for long. And I discovered that it is not about sweat, it’s the odor-causing germs that stay and multiply in the clothes! Can you imagine how frustrating that is? You washed your clothes the best possible way you can, but there are germs we can’t see (of course) that linger on them and produces stinky, annoying smell when mixed with sweat!
I first knew about Downy AntiBac with the power of Safeguard from a YouTube ad. I got interested in the way they explained about not totally killing the germs in used clothes that’s why they don’t smell fresh. Safeguard is known to kill 99.9% of germs that’s why it is most trusted for families’ skin maximum skin germ protection. Why wouldn’t it work as great for our clothes?
So I gave the variant a try, hoping that it will be the answer to my laundry issue. One laundry day, I specifically intended to wash one of my favorite work out shirts with Downy AntiBac with the power of Safeguard. Same process of laundry I normally do, the only difference is the fabric conditioner I will be using.
After rinsing it with Downy for 10 minutes, I spin-dried and hung it along with the other white clothes I washed and let it dry under the sun.
By 5PM, as the sun was no longer burning, I wore the work out shirt for my regular HIIT exercise and asked my 4-year-old daughter Amaria to smell my shirt before I get all sweaty from the exercise. As expected, she said my shirt smells fresh!
So I did a 7-minute work out with my kids. Jumping jacks, push-ups, crunches, planking, and all the good stuff. It was quick but it was really exhausting! I sweat really good and it was enough to burn the calories I had for the day. And so while being all sweaty and still catching up my breath, I asked Amaria how did my shirt smell now. Surprisingly, she still loved it! And yes I can tell by myself that the shirt still smells as fresh as I wore it!
You may watch the simple test I did on a vlog I made that day to prove that it’s not the sweat making clothes smell bad but the odor-causing germs that stay in them! And I am really happy to resolve that laundry issue of mine, all thanks to Downy AntiBac with the power of Safeguard for maximum germ protection! It did live up to my standards of germ-protection!
If you are experiencing the same laundry concern as mine, I recommend you try this variant of Downy too! It is available on the following stores and you can purchase it online through this link.
