“The best way to multiply your happiness is to share it with others.”
My first born Ysha & I are both April celebrants. I gave birth to her exactly a week before my 26th birthday! We don’t normally spend and host parties to celebrate our special day. Ysha only had a pretty decent 1st birthday celebration but not too extravagant as others who don’t really know us might think.
This year, to thank the Lord for all the wonderful blessings he has showered us all year round- good health, happy family, true friends, continuous projects and so much more to actually enumerate- I feel like it’s time to give back to probably some of the less fortunate people we could possibly reach out to. I contacted my most trusted mom partner, Icel Ragudo of @themommawrites, at once and told her about my thoughts of celebrating my birthday and Ysha’s. Our hearts led us to Grace To Be Born shelter in Pasig.
Grace to Be Born is a ministry that saves the unborn from abortion. It is a sanctuary for unwed pregnant mothers in crisis who initially thoughts of abortion but were convinced to enter the Grace home and continue their pregnancy.
It also serves as an orphanage for abandoned babies. After delivery, the mother decides whether to take home their babies or leave them at the Grace center where these babies are eventually put up for adoption through the Department of Social Welfare and Development.
It is a ministry organized and run by Betty Roxas-Chua and Rey Ortega. Lay preacher Bo Sanchez was one of the pioneers of the organization and continues to support it. It is also supported by the Rosary for Life movement. They opened the Grace center on May 8, 2009, and the ministry is duly registered at and approved by the Securities and Exchange Commission, DSWD, Bureau of Internal Revenue and the Mayor’s Office of the Philippines.

I honestly thought of just simply sharing what our family could. Shop for some gifts and have Momcy, my mother, cook food for everyone. Invite close mommy friends who would like to genuinely help and be part of the outreach program. But with the help of my partner Icel, we contacted some brands, most were those we have worked with and we really trust, and they were all willing to share their blessings too with these moms and kids who need it!

So on April 28, 10 AM, my family and Icel’s, together with our mom partners Omni, Jingki, and Lariza spent the morning with the moms of Grace To Be Born.

I can’t tell you how awesome the feeling was to make other moms happy in our simple way. This could have never been as successful if not for the kind hearts of our brand partners! Please give me this chance to thank them all sincerely for the gifts they shared to the moms & children at Grace to be Born. <3
